Care vs. Cost-Savings: Attend the ACO Panel at Our General Membership Meeting
Wednesday, February 8 - Save the Date!
Resource Reception, 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Dinner and Panel on ACO Accountability, 7:00 PM
Bethesda Marriott at Pooks Hill

Who holds an Accountable Care Organization Accountable? All physician members are invited to join us for a discussion of ACOs in our area. Have ACO's been a successful strategy to control cost through the provision of more efficient and effective care? Who's holding ACO's accountable? CMS? Physicians? Patients? What's their future under a new Administration?

Join us to hear our guest speaker,
Terri L. Postma, M.D., Medical Officer of CMS's Performance-Based Policy Group, share what grade CMS would give ACO's in the first generation, and to discuss what the future holds for ACO's as they assume greater risk for the care they provide.
A panel discussion will follow with representatives of ACO's active in the Montgomery County market area to present information about their specific performance results and their future operational strategies. To date, representatives from Aledade, Collaborative Health, Mid-Atlantic and Privia ACOs have been invited.

MedChi's House Call on Capitol Hill
Tuesday, February 28, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

MCMS coordinates the Capitol Hill visits for MedChi in conjunction with the AMA's National Advocacy Conference in D.C.. We want two teams of physicians each accompanied by one staff person. Appointments will be made with members of MedChi's Congressional delegation and/or their health care legislative aides. The discussion agenda is primarily set by the AMA, and usually 1-2 items of interest to MedChi and physicians in Maryland may be added.

Wednesday, March 8, 8 AM - 1:15 PM

Join us as MCMS members to make a "house call" on the Maryland Assembly. It is worth your time to ensure that the MC Legislative Delegation knows where we stand on the issues!
Physicians and practice administrators members are invited to participate.
