Montgomery County Physicians at MedChi’s Fall House of Delegates

A group of fourteen people stand in front of a projection screen announcing the Fall 2026 MedChi House of Delegates and Annual Meeting at The Hotel Arundel Preserve.

MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society, held its Fall House of Delegates meeting on Saturday, October 10, bringing together physicians from across the state to debate and pass new policy. Two presentations framed the day's discussion of where Maryland health care is headed: The Shift to Value-Based Care, Why EQIP Matters, and The Future of Maryland's AHEAD Model.

The MCMS Executive Board submitted six resolutions this fall. Four were adopted, one was referred to committee, and one was not adopted because a law already covers the issue.

Adopted:

  • Resolution 26-26, Protecting Medicaid Coverage During Implementation of Work Requirements
  • Resolution 28-26, Physician Dispensing
  • Resolution 30-26, Prior Authorization and Utilization Review: Transparency and Enforcement
  • Resolution 31-26, Payment for Clinically Significant Asynchronous Patient Care

Referred to Committee:

  • Resolution 27-26, Medicaid Coverage for Out-of-State Specialty Care.

Thank you to the MCMS members who represented us: Drs. Aruna Nathan, Kathryn Kelly, Amar Duggirala, Diane Snyder, Marsha Seidelman, Vinu Ganti, Audrey Corson, Stephen Rockower, Alan Gonzalez Cota, Lynn Diggs, Annette Pham, Mark Seigel, Irfan Suleiman, Jasleen Salwan, Farzaneh Sabi, and Christine Saba.
